Recently, we received an urgent request from a remote cottage in the picturesque village of Laggan, Fort William. Waste was backing up in the property, leaving the homeowners in a stressful situation.

The clients, recent arrivals from the European mainland, had moved into this charming Scottish cottage to start a new chapter. Faced with an unexpected sewage issue, they were desperate for assistance. Without hesitation, we dispatched our dedicated team, Ben and Mark, to address the problem.

The lads arrived on site early Wednesday morning, ready to investigate the cause of the backup. Initial digging revealed a collapsed clay pipe, and as they exposed more of the area, they discovered roots had infiltrated the pipework. The damage was extensive but not insurmountable.

Ben and Mark kept the clients updated every step of the way. Understanding the sensitivity of the situation, they opted to hand-dig the remaining sections of the pipework to minimise disruption and ensure precise repairs. Once the damaged clay pipes were replaced, the team tested the pipe run and flow, confirming the system was functioning properly.

To ensure the pipes were entirely clear, Ben and Mark jetted the line all the way to the septic tank, eliminating any remaining debris. They then walked the clients through the completed work, flushing the system multiple times to guarantee everything was in perfect working order.

The effort and commitment of Ben and Mark did not go unnoticed. They started their day at 4:30am in Carluke, worked tirelessly in Laggan until 6pm, and returned home at 10pm that night. For them, the priority was clear: restoring the client’s peace of mind and ensuring their sewage system was fully functional.
